momentarily sends one kind of text message: a one-time verification code you ask us for. This page describes that program.

1. What We Send

momentarily sends a single category of text message: a one-time verification code used to confirm that a phone number belongs to you. The message contains a six-digit code and nothing else of substance.

We never send marketing or promotional text messages. We do not send recurring texts, newsletters, offers, reminders, or booking notifications by SMS. Every other notification momentarily sends — booking updates, messages from other members, payment receipts — goes by email or appears in the app.

2. How You Opt In

You opt in by signing in to momentarily, going to your account settings, entering your own mobile number, checking the consent box, and choosing to send yourself a code. We send a message only when you take that action. We never text a number that was given to us by someone else, and we never text a number you have not entered yourself.

Verifying your phone number is required to list an item or request a booking, because it is one of the ways we deter fraud and confirm that members are reachable. It is not required to create an account, browse listings, or search.

3. Message Frequency

You will receive one message each time you request a verification code. There is no recurring or scheduled messaging of any kind.

4. Cost

momentarily does not charge you for verification messages. Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile plan and carrier.

5. How to Stop Messages

Reply STOP to any message from us to stop receiving texts. Opt-out is processed automatically by the mobile carriers and our messaging provider, and takes effect without any action by us. Common variations — stop, end, cancel, unsubscribe, quit — are also honored, and capitalization and punctuation do not matter.

Once you opt out we cannot text that number again, including verification codes. If you later want to verify that number, reply START to resume messages, or use a different number. You can also simply not request a code — nothing is sent unless you ask for it.

6. How to Get Help

Reply HELP to any message from us for help, or email us at hello@momentarily.com.

7. Carriers and Delivery

We currently send verification codes only to mobile numbers in the United States and Canada (numbers beginning +1). Delivery depends on your mobile carrier, and carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Verification codes expire shortly after they are sent. Never share a code with anyone — momentarily will never ask you for your code by phone, email, or message.

8. Your Information

When you verify a phone number we record that you consented, when you consented, the number you entered, the wording of the consent you were shown, and the network address the request came from. We keep that record so we can demonstrate that messages were sent with your permission.

We share your number with our messaging provider solely to deliver your verification code. We do not sell your phone number, and we do not share text-messaging opt-in data or consent with any third parties for their own marketing. See the Privacy Policy for how we handle your information generally.

9. Changes and Contact

If we change this program materially we will update this page and the consent wording shown when you verify a number. Questions about text messages from momentarily can be sent to hello@momentarily.com.
